About Navratri Utsav
Navratri festival is a festival of nine days & nine nights, & the 10th day is called Vijayadashmi (Dassara). Every year navratri festival held at Chatushrungi temple, which starts at ashwin shudh pratipadha that is first day called as Ghatsthapana. In the temple early morning puja starts with abhisheka of Srisukta, Rudra. Vastra & Ornament paridhanam ceremony performed & at the end puja aarti is performed this is day one out of nine days called pahili maal.
From the first day onwards thousands of devotees come to temple to worship godess. The number of devotees increases day by day & on fifth day onwards these thousands crossed to lakhs. The fifth day is called lalita panchami this is pachavi maal. 6th day or sahavi maal is called Champashashthi, on this day warriors worship their weapons & performed puja.
The next day is sapatami followed by ashatami that is the 8thday. On 9th day that is on navami a yaga performed in the temple called navachandi yaga, which ends exactly on the starting of 10th day, after finishing this yaga 10th day starts which is called dassara. Dassara itself is a festival; on this day God Rama killed Ravana, with the help and blessings of godess. On this day here at chaturshingi mandir there is a procession of the statue of goddess made of silver in a silver chariot. This procession is of approximately 2 hours. In this 10-day festival lakhs of devotees come to worship godess from all over the country. In this big festival chattushringi mandir trust provide security, drinking water & other facilities with the help of police, security guards & voluntaries. There are amusement parks, food stall, merry go round for children’s & other stalls erected by shri chatursingi devastan for the enjoyment of devotees.
Deepavali, the festival of lights is also celebrated traditionally here in the temple. On the day of Tripuri Pornima that is full moon day, we celebrate dipotstava with lighting of more than ten thousands lights in small traditional earthan pots called panati. Chatursingi devi itself is Maa Laxmi, on the day of Laxmi Pujan in deepavali festival goddess look so beautiful with all ornaments. This day is also celebrated traditionally with firecrackers.
Other festivals like Chaitra Padwa, Holi, Ganesh Festival are celebrated traditionally by shri devi chatrushingi mandir trusts.
